Status Update: Chemoland

1 03 2011

Hello from Chemoland — almost done with today’s infusion. Two down — the Gemzar and the Carboplatin — and one to go: the PARP Inhibitor. Should be on the road headed toward home by 5:30.

My blood counts going into today’s chemo were much better/healthier than my levels going into last Tueday’s treatment, so I’m hoping that means I won’t be as sick this week as I was last week. Last week was a toughie, but I made it through.

Please say a prayer for my bff Elaine, who is my Chemo Buddy today. Poor thing. She just mentioned herself and something about slavery in the same sentence. Hmm. Whatever could she mean?

Hey You!

Even though the little light in your office is not shining right now, I still get messages! Isn’t it fantastic?
Amy, you are doing so good!!

No more office light tonight — but you can be sure I’ll be back at the keyboard first thing in the morning! Love you, CFW!

I guess it’s a little weird that I’m looking forward to our Chemo date on Friday…

Hi Amy,
We have never met. I subscribed to your blog today via The Pink Fund website that a friend sent to me. I know your book will get published. You definitely have what it takes. It truly is more than just a website about cancer. I can’t stop reading………I’m crying, I’m laughing…….. it’s better than “Cats”!!! Wishing you a quick return from chemoland, my friend. Wednesdays are my chemo days and I usually sleep, but I think I will bring my laptop and read more of your archives instead. I am so glad I found your blog. Thank you for the inspiration.
