Update: Race in T-4!

17 05 2011

There’s still time to sign up online for this Saturday’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, a 5K that begins and ends at Comerica Park in Detroit. Though Team Registrations are closed, you can sign up under Individual Registration and join in walking with our team, Amy’s Walking Angels.

No matter — whether you’re signed up as part of our team or as an individual, race day, it’s all the same. We’ll all be wearing the Race-issued T-shirts (some teams have their own shirts), so we’ll all match. And most importantly, we’ll all be together.

You can register online now through Thursday, May 19. To register as an Individual, go to: http://www.karmanos.org/detroitraceforthecure/index.asp

After Thursday, you will need to register the morning of the Race at the Race itself.

Our Team will be meeting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning, in front of the Tiger statue by the entrance to Comerica Park. Look for the large metal pink ribbon on a stick that we’ll be holding.

If you have any questions, please contact our Team Leader and Organizer, Mollie Finch, at MollieFinch81@yahoo.com.

The weather is supposed to be beautiful and sunny and the crowds of pink are incredibly uplifting. See you on Race Day!

I will be there on Saturday and will stop by to see you guys… I have to two teams to run for …. yours and Robin’s Wings, a co-worker. I will try and go back and forth. I can’t wait to see you again! I am amazed (yet, not surprised) that you have the strength to continue to stand up to this disease and be there on Saturday! May I put your name on my shirt for those I am honoring?
P.S. The “new normal” is not so bad. We were introduced to it just over 2 yrs. ago and there are still some adjustments, but we have finally found some peace with it.

Yes, please! I’d be deeply touched if you chose to list my name among those you are honoring!
See you Saturday!
