Update: Race for the Cure Registration Logistics

This just in from Team Amy’s Monica Lesnau. Thought it would lend some insight and assistance to those of you who still need to register for this Saturday’s Detroit leg of the 20th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Whew! Had a heck of a time registering. There was some kind of a log on mess up. They said my ID was registered and in use, with the wrong password. When I tried to change the password, the ID didn’t exist. Following your recent blog, I decided time was of the essence. There just never seems to be a good time to call a help desk, but I called Active’s help desk this morning. They were very helpful. Yep. Log on mess up. They reset my ID over the phone and registered the account. Though we’re not registered as part of the Amy’s Walking Angels team, three of us will be there to walk with you and support you.

Don’t be discouraged. I’ve always found Active’s help desk to be quick and efficient, as Monica did earlier today. You can still register online as an Individual, and walk with our team, Amy’s Walking Angels. Teams are set up for those who wish to fundraise as a group and also to be eligible for awards, i.e., team with the biggest increase in registration since 2010, etc.

At race time, though, we will start and end the race together, all of us as part of Amy’s Walking Angels, whether you registered earlier as a Team Member or later on as an Individual. There’s no differentiation. What counts is that we’re together in this, and we’re in this together.
